This rendering is for one of our upcoming weddings where the bride needed some help deciding colors, table top layout, etc. Often times our clients need visual aids to help them with their decision making. Sometimes flipping through magazines and photo galleries isn't enough. There may be bits and pieces of each but not always the whole look can be found. This is where renderings help our clients and today we're sharing one with you.

Pure Space; Portland's newest event space

A few years ago Portland Fashion Week held their event at the coolest space on the outskirts of Portland's Pearl District. Since then I have driven by the building on numerous occasions dreaming about the endless possibilities. Now, thanks to West Coast Event Productions, Inc. that dream is a reality.

AniA Collection: Twitter Ten Tuesdays (TTT)

Starting in April, AniA Collection will launch their Twitter Ten Tuesdays (TTT) program. Every Monday, they'll tweet the name of a designer. Wish Upon a Wedding | Portland Chapter

We heard about Wish Upon a Wedding during their awareness week campaign earlier this month and we've been hooked ever since!  Its a wonderful non-profit that grants wedding wishes to those with life threatening illness.  I am happy to announce that I have been selected as the Chapter President for Portland.  Contact me to get involved, together we can get wishes granted.

California Chic visits Oregon Wine Country

Labor Day weekend proved to be rainy, cold and stormy. In spite of the weather a 15-year dream came true when Kristina Quinn wed Jonathan Sands at The Stafford Vineyard in Wilsonville, Oregon. The Bride’s Aunt and Uncle fulfilled Kristina’s dream of getting married on their property situated above the banks of the Willamette River. Their home became the back drop to their wedding story and the site of a destination wedding for close to 200 family members and friends who traveled to Portland from various cities throughout the United States.

Kristina, who planned the wedding from San Francisco, scripted the most intricate details down to the specialty ribbons used for tying the flip flop favors. Her colors (burnt orange, chocolate brown and avocado green), theme, design element and personality were present in each and every aspect – clean, simple elegance and chic.

The not-so-ideal weather did not deter the out-of-town guests nor dampen spirits. Tents were erected and a magical environment was created under canopy with floral elements of Flowers by Cat, rentals from The Party Place, gourmet cuisine from Art of Catering, and lively music entertainment of Design Band. Sweet tooth cravings met the delicious creation of Dream Cakes in a white, simply elegant, four-tiered cake and a full candy bar with assorted orange candies.

When the night came to an end Kristina and Jon were whisked away in a 1947 Silver Wraith Rolls Royce to their honeymoon suite at The Nines Hotel. In true Kristina fashion, ensuring that final details were not to be forgotten, each guest received a box containing two freshly made sliders as they entered the bus (provided by Raz Transportation) for their final ride back to their hotels in downtown Portland.

Thank you Kristina and Jon for having Creations by Ly be a part of your wedding day ensemble! It is a treasured memory for us.

Wish Upon A Wedding

Have you heard of Wish Upon A Wedding?  They are America’s only wedding wish granting organization that produces weddings and civil union ceremonies at destinations across the United States for individuals facing life-threatening illness.  There are currently 12 established chapters across the U.S. with one in Seattle and hopefully soon in Portland.

As a young breast cancer survivor who was diagnosed shortly after my own wedding this organization hits very close to home.  Visit Wish Upon A Wedding to learn more about a worthy cause and give a gift of love by supporting a couple with their wedding wish.
